Five MASSTRPLAN young researchers and several PIs attended the OCC World Congress and SFRR-E conference on METABOLIC STRESS AND REDOX REGULATION in Berlin between 21st and 23rd June. Professor Corinne Spickett gave a talk about “Protein Oxidation and Protein Redox Interactions in Metabolic and Inflammatory Diseases”, which was very well received.
Seven posters were presented by the MASSTRPLAN team, with Catarina Afonso winning a Young Investigator’s Award for her poster entitled ““Identification and localization of protein-pentanal adducts, a potential lipoxidation marker”. The prize is €800 and comes with the invitation to speak at the next meeting of the Society which will take place in Lisbon in June 2018 – Congratulations Catarina!
