In 2014 I graduated in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology at Bologna University. I completed my master thesis at Utrecht University with a project entitled “Chiral analysis of FMOC-amino acids by capillary electrophoresis with fluorescence detection”.

In April 2016, I started my PhD project at the Institute of Bioanalytical Chemistry of Leipzig University.

My project focuses on cell culture models of oxidative stress (primary cardiomyocytes, epithelial cell and THP1). I use LC-MS/MS techniques to identify oxidized lipids and lipid-protein adducts in cellular extracts. Using complimentary techniques (fluorescent microscopy and biochemical assays) I am going to study how oxidation can cause changes in cellular localization and functions of target lipids and proteins.
