In 2013, I have obtained a bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences at University of Aveiro. From there I moved on to University of Minho, where I finished a master in Molecular Genetics, in 2016, with a thesis entitled “The role of endoplasmic reticulum-mitochondria contact sites and mitochondrial phospholipid composition in Saccharomyces cerevisiae acetic acid-induced apoptosis“, where I worked with several techniques of proteomics.

Since May 2016 I am part of the MASSTRPLAN project as an early stage researcher/PhD student at the School of Life and Health Sciences in Aston University, United Kingdom. My project is ESR2, entitled “Targetted approaches to identifying adducts of oxidized phospholipids with proteins”, where I’m going to use mass spectrometry based techniques to try to identify potential biomarkers of inflammatory diseases.
