Alma Martinez

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry (UCM, Madrid) and a Master’s degree in Biomolecules and Cell Dynamics (UAM, Madrid), performing my Master Thesis in the group of Posttranslational modification of proteins at Centro de Investigaciones Biológicas (CSIC, Madrid).

In July of 2016, after completing my Master Degree I joined to MASSTRPLAN project as a PhD student in the Unit of Proteomics at Centro Cardiologico Monzino (Milan).

During my PhD project I will apply the novel methodology developed by MASSTRPLAN partners to analyse lipid and protein oxidation status in plasma samples derived from patients undergoing cardiovascular diseases, particularly Heart Failure (HF).

The major aim of my project is to identify new and specific biomarkers from HF patients, lacking to date, which will allow earlier diagnosis and better prognosis of the disease.
